Many of those phots I had never seen before. I particularly liked the shot of the USS Essex. The introduction mentions photos of individuals to come. Can you post the link to those Ned? |

Tony: if you feel strongly enough about it, then petition the Cabinet. I just don't think enough guys agree with you. |

Come on guys. Lets keep it civil. I've always been impressed by the class shown on these forums. Don't ruin it for others, especially the new guys. |

BG Don Vandergrift and I are fighting "Reverse of Fortunes" by Genls. McOmish and Simms where the sides are reversed: The South defends Gettysburg and the North arrives from the North. As I had no intention of attacking the South as Lee as done, I held a line along Herr Ridge and he on McP... |

Instead of changing the rule, why not waive it for a specific event: The Union Army could hold Spring/Summer Manuevers where Eastern armies challenge Western armies. Full points could be allowed. the games would be registered as battles as long as it was identified in the comments section as part of... |

From Gen. Ned Simms' daily history of the Civil War, the average Confederate's pastime: "increased drinking, particularly among Confederate officers, who were said to imbibe “in quantities which would astonish the nerves of a cast-iron lamp-post, and a quality which would destroy the digestive ... |

The reason Lt.Gen. Ringbloom doesn't sleep well at night has nothing to do with the AoG and their dreams of Glory or Major Olinsky's possible inclination toward Southern perversion as it has to do with my age and my bladder. |

My view is that the rule should stand because it does promote games against the other side and that is what the Club is about: North versus South. Also the lower ranks are based on OBD pts gained in battle and it would be possible to reach Brigadier without ever fighting the other side! Manuever gam... |

Major Olinsky: Gen. Whitehead has suggested the way you could form an Elite Division. Just get together 3 more officers (from any unit or Army) and advertise in the Opponents forum for MP games. This will allow you to form a playing style and perhaps changout officers who don't work out. When you ha... |

Major Olinsky: As a former Corcoran's Division Commander, I can attest to the fact that it was not a failure because the common members, Gens Niall Murphy (still active) , Dierk Walter (ret.), Matt Perrenod(ret.) and Mike Dean (LoA) were actually together for many years . But such an association can... |

Major Olinsky: I must disagree strongly with the points you made. What you are suggesting is a coterie of cliques, each with its special interests, not answerable to anyone or the members as a whole. The club members have two binding interests: the playing of the games in a pbem environment and an a... |

The concepts Bill Peters expresses are more in line with an "association" or "informal group" rather than a "club". A Club has bylaws which the club members approve of and abide by. Some of these bylaws mandate record-keeping which require musters and the record of such... |

Another frontline tactic was to mask (hide) the batteries until the enemy advanced close then move the guns up to add surprise to the destruction. You can approximate this in the game by placing units in the hex in front of the battery to hide it until the enemy closed, then move the troops back to ... |

I read somewhere that troops (especially Confederate) did not like gunners shooting over their heads because of misfires. I would think that cannon in the front ranks or behind breastworks would be more historical. |
