Very well said Blake! And you couldn't have said it at a better time in my opinion! Your words were like a refreshing drink in the desert. We in the club as a group really do have much in common and we ought to think of ourselves as a band of brothers, even when in respectable disagreement. Let's pu...

Those Western Theater Yanks may be lined up right now putting in transfers to their Eastern Theater armies! Come on Yanks! I know you have a right to be scared, but fix bayonets and come forward at the double quick! If you're gonna get whipped, it might as well be here and now. I know my brigade has...

Gentlemen I was hoping to get some words of wisdom regarding gunboat tactics from some of you veterans of the HPS Shiloh game scenarios. I am just beginning to play Shiloh battles, and was wondering if there are any general "Do's and Dont's" of gunboat tactics that would help me stay afloat. Thanks ...

I play in 2D. I think it just gives me a better view of the board (map). I will switch to 3D or sometimes 4D momentarily to get a better feel for terrain when the situation warrants, like an area with changing elevations. Fld. Lt. Big John Wayne fan here, always have been. My all time favorites are almost anything he was in that John Ford directed. I'm not such a fan of his later films, mid 60's and afterwards. Although, I have always enjoyed his Rooster Cogburn movies. Fld. Lt. Mark Davis Adjutant, CSA Western Theater 4th Bd...

I have conflicting views on this. On one hand, I congratulate what the reenactors do to honor the indescribable bravery, sacrifice and patriotism that the soldiers of our nation have shown in the past. Reenacting is very expensive and time consuming, I did it for a short time in the mid 80's. On the...

I just wanted to add a personal story of mine to Col. Elkin's post and article. My great-great-grandfather William A. Davis was a 'galvanized' Yankee. He initially joined a Confederate cavalry unit, 5th (McClellan's) Tennessee Cavalry Bn., B Company, in Chattanooga in August 1861. The unit participa...
