Did Pfanz write a book about the third day? I thought there was a book on the first day, and then a book on the second day covering the Union left flank and another covering the fighting at Culp's Hill. I didn't know of a book on the third day. <blockquote id="quote"><font size="3" face="book antiqu...

I just finished reading Grabau's book on the Vicksburg campaign titled "98 Days: A Geographer's View to the Vicksburg Campaign". It is worth the read for the maps alone but it sure brings a lot better perspective on why the commanders did what they did. General Mark Nelms 6/3/IX/AoO "Blackhawk Briga...

Rich, I would like something as simple as a hot key for viewing command range. It is an extremely useful tool but it is a pain in the butt to have to go up to the menu bar, select views, select command range, check what you want to see, then unselect it, move some more, then go through it again, etc...

Okay, I see where they were discussed but I've looked through the documentation with Vicksburg and I can't find anything on the rules. What I want to know is the nuts and bolts of the new rules. How to implement and what there affects are.

There are now selections for the following: Mounted Cavalry Skirmishers Higher Disrupted Movement Artillery Retreat by Prolonge One of the guys at the GameSquad forums poste...

1. Second Bull Run to Antietam
2. Murfreesboro to Chickamauga
3. Wilderness to Petersburg

and if you asked for 4 I would have said the Red River Campaign.

Just a few quick comments on what is an interesting thread. First, part of the mystique of the campaigns, or at least to me, is knowing when you've got a clunker of scenario. Knowing when to cut and run and when to stand and fight was an important aspect of what it took to be a commanding general in...

Would love to see us play out the entire campaign like in Peninsula. About 15 turns into that 400 turn monster and loving it. The ability to direct my forces from start to finish and knowing the only contrived situation I'll face is the one that we had at the start is great. Den McBride and I have a...

After thinking about it for awhile this morning I think HPS has some blame for the rate of expansion in the club and the lack of roleplaying but I don't think it is because the games are too complicated. It is more a matter of diffusion. When I joined the club there was this one and the Nappy club a...
