Col Paul, may I suggest you select 'Ask before advancing' under settings.
this will prevent you from hitting the end phase button by mistake as it will then ask you if you are sure you want to move to the next phase ...

battles are released approximately 10 by 10 according to the date of the historical fight.
if you check the website, you will see the order in which the battles are released
