Just finished watching "Field of Lost Shoes" with my wife, first time I'd ever seen it. If you haven't ever heard of it / seen it, it is the story of the battle of New Market, VA during the North's invasion of the Shenandoah Valley in 1864. The corps of cadets at the Virginia Military Inst...

Ken,

Did you see any message about certain unspecified properties of the installer files couldn't be copied to the flash drive? That's what I see, but things APPEAR to still work ok when I install from the flash drive. I'm just wondering what properties it's talking about...

Ok, so I'm in a number of Civil War groups on Facebook, but most of them are simply filled with people who want to disparage the South on every post, rather than provide any informed/researched opinions or information on topics such as this one. So I thought I'd throw it out here (my apologies if it...

So you didn't copy the installer to the flash, you installed the game to the flash - correct? That may be my next route - see how much space the installed games take up and just install everything to a flash drive and run it from there.... I DID just try the copying of Mexican American War's old ins...

Has anyone attempted to copy their installer files to a new drive at any point? I have several installers which John and Rich were kind enough to send me back when the store was changing from HPS to JTS. They are copied onto my laptop hard drive. I'm trying to clean up the drive and move files to fl...

Just because I'm curious about these sorts of stats on occasion... What's your "best" (points-wise, or even reputation-wise) Leader Loss that you've inflicted, either against the AI or against a human opponent? Worst I've suffered was losing JEB Stuart in a Gettysburg scenario that had the...

Roger that. Man, he was one lucky boy. Survived in a unit that was decimated by war's end. Discharged in 1864 due to illness. Fought at Shiloh, Chickamauga, Missionary Ridge (Chattanooga campaign), possibly around Atlanta, and possibly (thought I doubt this was early enough) the NC campaign.

Scott, thanks for the PM - that's definitely him (at least, from what I can figure. The enlistment details almost match up, as does the transfer note that he was originally in the 18th AL). The assistance is much appreciated!! All who pointed me to some sites, I appreciate the assistance. Now the fu...

Thanks guys. I'll have to give that a look-see and see if any of the "trial period" sites let me get enough information (sometimes I think they limit what you can view with a free trial, but if it's not exorbitant to sign up for a little while, maybe I can swing it). Dale, that site you re...

If this is not the proper place for this post ,my apologies. I am currently trying to do some genealogical research, as I have at minimum one direct ancestor (my GG Grandfather) who wore the gray during the War (my GGG Grandfather may have as well, but there's a bit of confusion as to his true ident...

I can't find a link to whatever the current quarter sharpshooter contest is, but - Add me down for another 32 points. I captured BG D.M. Gregg at Gettysburg. He is currently in irons on his way south to Andersonville. Scenario is one of the Gettysburg meeting engagements, I am facing Gian Luca Giorg...

I just saw this when I went to their website. Truly a sad day. As frustrating as playing these games can be, they have been an enjoyment. John, you will be missed by all of us. Prayers go out to his family and friends at this time.

The page previously mentioned apparently needs an update. The battle was in Arizona, they have part of the location marked as the Picacho Peak located in New Mexico. No wonder you never hear much about it - a grand total of no more than 15 casualties... Reenactment is this weekend, I guess...said it...

I unfortunately don't get back East much, but -- I am in the shadows of one of the ACW battles that was fought out this way, at Picacho Peak, just outside Tucson, AZ. Never been, but I hear they have at least had reenactments in the past. Not sure how much of a tour there is, either - from what I un...
