The two maps are independent of each other, two separately completed projects. Even maps from back in the day did not agree with each other. I noticed that the Peninsula maps don't jive much with that part of Overland, either. I put a lot of work into the Cold Harbor area, but I have no control over...

So Doug, if you are interested, please send a courier to myself, Deano or Tom Borling.
Starting off, you would be WHL Wallace, so keep your head down

So how is this done? Do players each take a command, like a division or a corps, for them to fire and maneuver? Is anyone in overall charge on each side, to direct the mayhem? 'Scuse me, I'm new here.

General Wilkes
Since things are rather quiet along the Po, could we not adjourn to Tennessee and GET IT ON!????
I'd like to take the Union side and see how difficult it is to lose. I'm sure you could instruct me.

As co-designer of the Overland Campaign, I would like to say that when it comes to assigning capabilities to units--A, B, C, etc--Mr Tiller gives free rein to his designers, and never involved himself in the force makeup of this campaign, or any other, as far as I know. It should come as no surprise...

Sir-- Those little guys are like memos, telling players that the units brigaded under it are only to be brought in as replacements, etc. I would imagine that resourceful players could find uses for one-man commando units. They are as expendable as you might expect, but if you march them along with t...

A couple of things bandied about here that I disagree with. Although I'm touted for shortening the range of some small arms, I did it FOR historical accuracy and no other reason. The idea of arbitrarily shortening artillery ranges is a gamey solution to an minimal ammo preservation problem. The rifl...

For the pdt, I think the answer is that once the range is beyond maximum effective, but within maximum range, the firepower should be negligible. This will tend to separate players by their abilities--the ones that will blaze away at anything that is lit up, and those who conserve their ammo.

I'm wondering about reinforcement schedules though. That you should know. Not the enemy's, but your own, of course.

Such an ambitious project as a full scale pdt review might be a good long range pursuit, but what I had in mind was a limited review of all weapon ranges and firepower numbers, both small arms and artillery, that could be integrated into an update of Overland. Overland 1 pdt would not change, as it ...
