https://armyhistory.org/mine-warfare-in-the-civil-war/ Good article on mine usage. Much more common than I thought. In response to the mines, Major General George B. McClellan, who also had been an American observer of the Crimean War, vowed to “make the prisoners remove [the mines] at their own pe...

I can see all three of those things being incorporated in some weird way. It will never happen but it theoretically could. Engineer units could place mines (same tech as water mines except on land) which would inflict anywhere from 0% to 1% losses on an enemy unit which triggers them (and a little f...

I fell asleep watching a turn replay. I woke up five minutes later after it was over.

Pretty soon I’m going to need a bathroom break halfway through moving my troops, lol. (I laugh now but in ten years who knows?)

It is an interesting question though. It's not that important or game-changing but it is a head-scratcher. Troops fired upon do have to "roll the die" and that might be considered as movement in some way. If the loss was 1 it would be considered a "non-resting turn." But if the r...

My wife unexpectedly came home with a puppy last week  Obviously, we are keeping the puppy (much to the chagrin of our other dog!). But the price is steep for the wife. I've been waiting for an excuse to get my General Cleburne at Franklin painting into the living room above the fireplace fo...

Matt Clausen with the excellent response! I thought about it only from a tactical me vs the computer standpoint but you brought up other ideas which made me rethink it all. I think the AI could potentially be used to improve gameplay experience in the ways you mentioned. What if the AI were programm...
