The ACWGC's Department of Records is arguably the most underappreciated website in the Club. Ours has been ran by Gen. Ernie Sands for many years and has remained an integral and important part of our Club since its creation. I give Ernie my personal thanks for his incredible effort and dedication ...

The full context of the quote is below. It comes at the end of his examination of Chickasaw Bluffs. Sherman ultimately bears the responsibility for the failure. Although his command consisted of only four divisions, he was remarkably quick to delegate authority to subordinates A. J. Smith, for opera...

Fair or Foul? In a war in which nearly all generals struggled to find successful offensive tactics to cope with the new weapons of the mid-nineteenth century, Sherman stands out for exceptional ineptitude on the tactical offensive. A splendid defensive tactician, a tower of strength in the midst of...

I've played the iPad JTS apps before. No offense to JTS or WDS but they do not translate well to the iPad format. Some games just work really well in one format or another and there's nothing you can do about it.

Just my opinion though.

Haven't done one of these in a while. Call out the answers if you know without looking them up. The Confederate Cabinet 1. Three of the original cabinet members were foreign born. Who were they and in what countries were they born? 2. One of the original cabinet members left the cabinet for a gener...

Ugh. Always something going on at Gettysburg.

Makes me happy that places like Perryville and Shiloh are so far off the main roads that they are "HOPEFULLY" beyond any sort of mass development.

About the only new buildings at Perryville are the local farmers putting up birdhouses.

If you enjoy a good read, check out this latest completed After Action Report. A heck of a game between two well-matched teams! Ended quite dramatically with a Pickett's Charge-like finale.

I'm speaking only about our online operations. Field operations have been on hold since 1865 due to unforeseen error messages. 8)
