The ACWGC's Department of Records is arguably the most underappreciated website in the Club. Ours has been ran by Gen. Ernie Sands for many years and has remained an integral and important part of our Club since its creation. I give Ernie my personal thanks for his incredible effort and dedication ...

The largest night action I recall was at Chickamauga where a full battle occurred after sunset between Cleburne's Division and Thomas's men (see Peter Cozzens "This Terrible Sound" p. 268). Pure and utter chaos. But I agree with your statement that the side that moves last at dusk gets an ...

You have to love this nod to the 54th Massachusetts Monument in Boston located in arguably the greatest video game ever - The Last of Us. In the post-apocalyptic world you can fight zombies in downtown Boston while also taking in some history. https://static.wixstatic.com/media/7b5c37_246b8546c13a4...

The full context of the quote is below. It comes at the end of his examination of Chickasaw Bluffs. Sherman ultimately bears the responsibility for the failure. Although his command consisted of only four divisions, he was remarkably quick to delegate authority to subordinates A. J. Smith, for opera...
