Gen. Sands Ernie, Your service to the club is not new. I believe you were the commander of the Army of the Ohio when I joined the ACWGC some 20+ years ago. Since then you have probably held every command and administrative position in the Union Army. I also recall you serving as commander of the V C...

Pat, If you are running Win 10 I suggest using the Snip tool included with it. Put a shortcut on your taskbar, then you can have the game file or whatever you want to get the image from open along with whatever you are using to create the AAR. Click on the Snip utility, you can then grab the part of...

I can vouch for the Win10 Snip tool. For years I have been using a free screen shot program I downloaded in the late 90's. I was using it for my update to the documentation. It is a TSR that is activated by the Print Screen button but it required me to save the screen shot then open it with a drawin...

Haven't looked at Scheldt yet and don't have Japan'46. I bought Japan'45 and have played a couple of the short scenarios vs the AI and was able to get victories in those. Also tried the campaign game against the AI, or at least 160 of the 195 turns. I quit then as it appeared I would not manage a vi...

If you modified the stock OOB it will affect ANY game on your pc being played in the game engine that uses that OOB file. So if you have modified the class, strength or weapon of a unit or an officer' values in a Stock OOB and send it to your opponent, YES it will affect any game that uses that oob ...

If you download the recently updated manuals at the JTS site you'll find the description above in the Users Manual under Uncrewed Artillery and Recrewing. The download allows you to place the updated manuals in any of your game folders. It's handled just like any other update to the games, you point...

Wanted to wait awhile before commenting here. First thanks for the kind words. When I heard Rich was having trouble finding someone to update the manuals I thought about it and offered to give it a shot. Wrote my fair share of how to manuals in 36 years as a tech so it wasn't completely new t...

If you want to see what it takes to kill an artillery crew go to Help. Parameter Data. Scroll down till you see a line that looks like Fire Modifiers Enfiladed: 40% Cavalry: 40% Gunboat: 1/10 Crew Kill: 100 This may vary from scenario to scenario as it is a developer setting. From the updated Users ...

Gen. Thompson, Pat, The Spencer Carbine is missing from the pdt, it has been reported to WDS but I can't say when they will be putting out another set of patches. Your other option is to open the pdt for the scenario, they're located in the Data folder now and add this line at the bottom of the weap...

Br Gen A. Staccioli. I have the Matrix versions loaded on my Win 10 machine. I understand there is a problem trying to play between that and the Talonsoft version. More than willing to play if you have the Matrix version. If you don't find another opponent and want to try it with the Talonsoft one a...

Robert, Just ran a test to verify and Gen. Mihalik has it right, the AI fires stacks in Phase Mode defensive fire. In Turn Mode AI still does defensive fire with single units. All defensive fire in Turn Mode is at half strength, this is the calculated Fire Value that is halved. Basically you half th...

Robert, I thought the AI firing was addressed some time ago. Looked through the changes files and found Changes for Campaign Chancellorsville 1.01 - AI firing is now by stack instead of by unit. This was 2009 according to HPS website. Not sure if this is offensive fire only or includes defensive fir...
