Robert, I was told that the fire itself is conducted separately, each units casualties being determined individually. I was also told that each firing action results in a check for whether or not a morale check is made, whether the crew is killed and whether a gun is destroyed from artillery fire. T...

Lt. Gen Bird, Two things you may not be aware of, one is a change made for Chancellorsville game. When an artillery unit is fired upon by small arms fire, there is a probability that the artillery unit will become Uncrewed. This probability is determined by the Crew Kill Parameter Data Value. For a ...

No, highlighted Command Range is based on the PDT value, whatever that says is what you see when you check highlight Command Range. I ran a test in Gettysburg and this is correct. Moved Meade 7 hexes from Patrick. Patrick was in command range but Detached. Moved Meade within 6 hexes, next turn Patri...

Did I even have internet in '97? Mike Mihalik LtGen CSA DIALUP! Ah yes AOL and 28 kbps internet, if you tried to download anything you had to sit at the computer because if you didn't use the mouse or keyboard for 10 minutes they cut you off. :x Had it mostly for the kids to use for school. Then in...

In looking through my personal record I was amazed to discover John and I had never played each other. We had so many contacts over the years as part of our club interactions and admin work. He took part in all 3 of the Tessier style games I ran and in all our contacts I found him to always be a fir...

There is a scenario for BG Gettysburg The Stonewall at Gettysburg with the premise Jackson survives his Chancellorsville wound and is at the battle. Although it may be based on a mistaken notion that Lee would not have introduced a third corps had he survived. Several books I've read appear to indic...

Wow are you guys taking me back. Those old plastic playsets were popular when I was a kid. I had the Fort Apache set and my brother got the Wells Fargo western town set. We lived in what today would be called condos but in those days were called row houses, a large housing plan with six or seven 2 a...

Gen. Milhalik is correct. If you're an old boardgamer or miniature player this might be easier to understand. Crew Kill Value=100 Fire Results = 25 Needed to kill crew Result<=(25/100)*100 Roll 2 different color 10 sided dice, say red/white red =2, white=6 result 26= crew ok, takes fatigue. red=2, w...

Lt. Gen. Thompson,

Pat,

Welcome back, getting to be like old times in the AotS.
I returned to active duty after a couple years off and Gen. Hodgkiss recently returned.
Now if only Gen. Walter and Gen. Perrenod were to return.

My first Tiller game was Battleground:Ardennes in 1995, currently I have over 50 Tiller games in my collection.
I agree with the comments about the years of enjoyment I have gotten out of these games and wish to add my thanks to all involved.

Update...this looks to be the old SSI game.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yk_V7KWk7U There were some features of these SSI games that I wish would be incorporated into the JTS games, but graphics isn't one of them. It was better on the Commodore 64, but not by much. Still, considering the compu...

I did play test work on Overland and also did some work on Petersburg in the early stages, dropped out due to real life issues. Worked on the last stages of testing for Shenandoah which introduced the new variable Objective VP's which made it interesting. There are some scenarios where you have to g...

Gen. Mills,

A year ago we had a short discussion about your scenario work and although I did not take part in the tournaments you put together, your work looked very well done. Your efforts were definitely a plus for the club and I am sorry to see you leave after such a brief return.
