Thanks for the responses. Actually my thinking is if you change the file name of a campaign game does leader losses ect carry over or does it confuse the game Sorry I misunderstood the question. NO changing the game file name will not mess up a Campaign. When the game goes to the battle phase the i...

Back when I first found pbem gaming email had limited storage so you had to keep the number of saved emails down. With the large capacity providers give you today that habit has gone. Now I create a folder when I start a new game and store all the emails there and when the game is done I can delete ...

I won't play without the Artillery Capture Option on. That being said I rarely fire captured guns once my opponent is further than 2-3 hexes away, casualties it causes are not worth the ammo loss. Once that happens I may send a small high Fatigue unit to keep it for the VP's and spike it if it looks...

Just ran a quick test. Set up a unit D'd, routed and in column. All were detached. Did 3 night turns, D'd and column units recovered Fatigue all 3 turns. Routed unit did not until it rallied then it recovered some fatigue on the turn it rallied. Just realized I ran this test on my 4.05.1 version, cu...

My first battlefield as a kid was Fort Necessity, the battle at Fort Necessity in the summer of 1754 was the opening action of the French and Indian War. Also known as the Battle of the Great Meadows, took place on July 3, 1754, near present-day Farmington in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. It is loca...

I've been thinking about this very topic for some time now. It seems to me that the higher ranks should be reserved for officers who actively hold administrative positions in the club. Instead of permanent ranks, I would suggest 'brevet' ranks above Brigadier General, corresponding to the positions...

I was having trouble stacking with artillery units until I found in the new rules that one artillery piece is now equivalent to 80 men. That is a big jump from 25 men. ...... When I edited the User Manual in 2019 Artillery counted as a 50 men for Stacking, not 25. This goes back to the old BG days....

Scott,

Got home today, sent you the original zipfile I download some 25 years ago.
I did add an Open Office conversion of the Help file I made using an online convertor some years ago to it.

Hey Rich, Not sure they can be these days. Do you happen to have the scenario editor add on that used to be available on John's page? As for your post count. We have two profiles for you that go way back. https://www.wargame.ch/board/acwgc/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=1371 I'll email you l...

If you are comfortable with Windows Explorer you go to the Saves folder of the game. Find the file name, in this case My Campaign.cpf and open it with Notepad or any plain text editor you use. You should see something like this. Campaign Gettysburg-weather.cpd 0 3 B1 0 0 0 -1 -1 ----- PEM Header ---...

I worked with Walt Dortch after Joe Meyer had to retire suddenly.
He and Jim Boling stepped up to keep the Union Army functioning.
He was an asset to the Union Army and the ACWGC and will be missed.
My condolences to his family.

Gen. Kunz, You beat me, I was part of the first Vietnam draft lottery, 1969 Lottery covered everyone from 1944-1950. Born in 1950 my birthday was picked #13. I was in college at the time and having problems balancing school, work and social life I had lost my grant. Seeing no sense in borrowing mone...

Having 8 as a "hard" number -- historically correct or not -- would work against the 6-gun Union batteries. The CSA could stack 8 with their organizationally smaller units. Don't know if this was part of WDS thinking, but to be "fair" would require reworking Union OOBs. Their ch...

Maj. Gen. Moore,

I would be interested in trying Gen. Frost's scenario with you.
My normal options can be viewed here

If that is acceptable you can PM or email me.

Gentlemen, Once again I am looking for a club game. This is a long post, if you're not willing to use the Artillery Capture option you can stop here, I don't play without it. Not a gamer, I prefer to play using a historical perspective. Optional Rules Those I use Victory Points for Leader Casualties...
