I keep seeing routed infantry units with 12 movement points (and most with the 6 movement points that I would normally expect). Have I missed an update change, or is my dementia getting worse, or is this a surprise to everyone else as well? I recall seeing this in another forum. If a routed unit is...

I'm unable to research this in detail but offer the following observations. In WDS Perryville Hist I count 45 hexes. According to this map ( https://civilwartalk.com/attachments/1672265857214-png.461325/ ) the WDS maps looks about right in terms of the sprawl of Perryville. You say Perryville had a...

The only case of something like this for the HPS/JTS/WDS series was Doug Strickler's Gettysburg. He produced multiple versions of scenarios for the campaign game. The campaign file was set up to randomly select one of the versions by the way the scenario was named in the .cpf file, 1_* would select ...

That would leave me out, back in the Battleground days when I first joined my winning percentage was around 80%. I had been playing hotseat with a local gamer who like me had made it to the finals at several Origins boardgame tourneys back in the late 70's. He is a good player too and we each won ab...

If it's the one they show at the battlefield center I saw it about 25 years or so ago when we vacationed in the Shenandoah.
Spent a week at Massanutten and got to visit most of the battlefield areas in the valley.

Gen. Simms, This has never been explained so I ran a quick test in Gettysburg. This wasn't an exhaustive test just ran each test a couple times but here is what I found. I had Lee and Meade in hexes by themselves with an enemy unit next to them. First I had Longstreet, Hill, Ewell and Stuart in the ...

How about the officers that aren't designated as commanders, such as Grant in the Overland Campaign or the officers who are not designated as brigade, division, corps, or army commanders? They are valuable for stacking for morale check purposes. But do they also have a command range? A circumstance...

Mostly good information, you do want to keep your commands together. However being in Command Range has no effect on Morale Checks, only being stacked with any officer does that. Being Out of Command Range does make recovery from Disruption less likely as units use 1 as a base when trying to recover...

My thoughts on the changes to Gun Losses, the User Manuals states both Fire and Melee use the same Combat Results process for determining # men lost. The difference being that Fire uses the Adjusted Fire Value and Melee uses the adjusted strength of the opposing side. Regarding the increase in Gun L...

I had an opponent who complained of this problem. If you Google why does windows add a number to a filename when I attempt to download the same file again you get Why it happens: File System Limitation: A folder can't contain two files with the exact same name; one would replace the other. Browser P...

I learned to nap standing up in Boot Camp. Came in handy for those Friday afternoon parades. Take a nap while the speeches were made then wake up when the pass in review command was given. :D
