Fellow Club Members, It is time for us to donate in order to maintain this forum and the hosting of several club web pages. At the top of the forum to the right of the logo you will see a PayPal button as well as the total contributions and cost to maintain. We need 185$ for 2010. If you can help pl...

I am amazed that since the beginning of the club a steady number of people have joined. The basic total membership has been steady. 20 to 30 new people join every month (~30 in October 2009) about equal for each side. Only a few stay but it is enough to sustain the club. When new titles come out the...

It all started with Talonsoft and the Battleground games. The Talosnsoft forum was the initial spark that created the club. Not sure when HPS kicked in but it happened when Talonsoft was not continuing the BG games. We need to thank HPS and John Tiller for continuing the games as we know them today....

Roger has summarized the early setup quite accurately. Thank you Roger for remembering. Me and Denny spent many phone calls and emails setting up the CSA side of the club rules. We organized the CSA as such and found that the Union side were not being organized. To be fair we were moving at a fast r...

There has always been a CSA dominance of the Club, better leadesrhip, organization and interest, therefore any slight to the Union side is purely intended. :-) Best Regards, General Pierre D. 1st Bde, 3rd Div,I Corps Army of Georgia, CSA http://www.wargame.ch/wc/acw/Graphics/confsoldierright.gif

Lt Colonel Walker. I believe that the inclusion of the club in the Campaign notes of the games has a positive impact. There is always a good spike in recruitment when new titles are published. I wish to thank you on behalf of the Club. ***************** "BTW, just curious, my last two published titl...

I was able to get the old BG games working, by updating to 32 bit then installing, to a folder, not in program files, setting the .exe to XP mode, right click on exe, properties, compatibility, and it worked. It is possible to use them in Vista, no need to buy new versions but it might be easier. I ...

Time to put together an ACWGC meeting. All it takes is for someone, preferably local with knoweldge of a good accomodation in the area, secure a meeting room in same. Other logistics could be worked out. Unfortunately we do not have many ACW attractions around Montreal. Best Regards, General Pierre ...

I can understand Bill's frustration with the system. I have thought about leaving the unit to get away from that. The AoG is excellent and sends out calls to muster regularly as well as provide a lot of feedback as to promotions and such. I like the communication but not the regular mustering. It is...

As a habit I always zip, perhaps it is no longer needed for many users but there never has been a problem with them. The zipping time to be safe is minimal. I think that it is still a good policy. I think the latest version refers to .rar files which is better that winzip in my opinion for ease of u...

I have two Vista computers. It works on the second one but not on my primary one. I stopped trying to figure out why after that. I finally remembered this happened with some other games as well so I gave it a try. Installed the game and updates and 32 bit and it worked right off the bat. I chalk it ...

New titles are the main reason this Club is still functioning. New games results in new players joining the Club and increased interest. If it were not for the new games, IMHO, the club would have been less of a viable entity and probably would have been closed a long time ago because of a lack of i...
