General Burke, The Secretaries as peons to the CoA was a past experience and I know it is not the current situation. To highlight the point, I did not even think that this was the case when it was. Another argument for separate Cabinets as I was not privy to Union voting procedures. This would not h...

General Sands, Not a new club but a differently structured one. I cannot see the CoA’s working with their AC’s etc as the Cabinet does, performing the same duties as a 'side' Cabinet would. It does not happen now and there is no incentive to do so. First of all they are in the Chain of command a...

General Walter makes some very good points and observations. It is a very good post to start thinking about what to do about it. I would move towards developing the sides uniqueness. I believe there is still a difference between the person who joins the CSA or the Union. Choosing one side or the oth...

I undesratnd that he did not bring his cavalry with him but they must have been in and around Richmond. Does anyone have any information as to the actual dispositions of the Cavalry regiments at that time? I cannot find any direct reference. He did leave the evirons of Richmond in mid June to ride a...

The main part of his force was available. The ride around the AoP was in mid June a couple of weeks away. Some forces were detached to cover the left and Jackson was still in the valley wreacking havoc. Stuart joined Jackson at Ashland just before the Seven days battle. In the current situation the ...

I am wondering why Stuart and his cavalry is not present in the Seven Pines scenario. I think he was with Longstreet. He was not used becasue of the terrain but he should be available. Does anyone have any other info? Best Regards, General Pierre D. 1st Bde,3rd Div,I Corps, Army of Georgia CSA Presi...

I think that General Bowman on another thread put it in succinct terms.

"The simple truth is that we are playing a game that represents an event – not the event itself. Some compensation for the “god modeâ€

Hi RJ, It's been awhile, good to hear from you. I know that we go over the same gripes again and again. Programming could make things right. That is not in the cards though from what is commonly known. It is a question of time and money. The games are great and I love them or I would not have suppor...

There are a lot of silly things going in with the game. Do you think that a unit taking 50%, 80% losses would still go into battle, a division, a Corps, an Army? However it is possible and more then probable in the games we play. I am currently in a game were I lost 10000 men in 7 hours and my oppon...

I think it is important to think in abstract terms. Every aspect of the game is an abstraction. For example a column attack is not 2 by 2's moving onto a position. It is a few company's or battalion advancing on a position in groups instead of forming a line. More of a hasty attack I would think. Th...

There are other issues with artillery. Too easily eliminated and their high victory points. I think that they should take casulaties in crew which reduces their effectiveness and not eliminate all the crew. The casualties should be as per regular inf fire. If they are melee'd, they should take losse...
