FYI: While the immediate shortage was in arty ammo, the CSA forces at Pea Ridge were also pretty much out of small arms ammo. Short form, Van Dorn managed to go on a deep flank march, and left the Union army between himself and his supply train. Ooops. (Not Gettys or Peninsula, but you asked for one...

The first thign to take into account is that since the Union tends to have full 6 gun batteries, they aren't "short" so much as the Confederates have extra ammo to make up for the fact that they have to fire more "shots" to fire the same # of guns. Still, a place where having individual ammo level f...

I can agree with Faster... though giving any unit the ability to be a "work detail" would fit the era. Still, it would all need the other mod that has been mentioned, that a bridge has to be a certain level to be usable, especially for heavy stuff. Would actually be a nice change, because you can se...

I agree with making it take a fair amount of time to repair, but I think that in this case, any unit should be able to do repairs, not just designated pioneer units. If any armies ever reached the idea "every unit an engineer unit", these are the ones. Certainly things like roads, bridges and the li...

As a rule, the only way an individual arty unit will run out of ammo is if it is isolated. Otherwise, as long as the main army has a single shell left, all guns are assumed to have immediate access to that shell (gotta feel sorry for the poor mule on the ammo cart). Brig. General Gary McClellan 1st ...

Hm, I'm at White Oak Swamp in a couple of games, and it looks like ammo might be a hair tight, but hardly a catastrophic problem. If I'm not careful, I may run out the last 2-3 turns, but it's no big issue. Haven't gotten to Gaines Mill yet, so can't comment beyond. Brig. General Gary McClellan 1st ...

We'll be having a major celebration at our church this weekend, so good bet I'll be running behind on turns until early next week. I'll try to get them out as I can.

Gents, of course, everyone has heard of Gettysburg, and most have heard of Shiloh and Antietam and the like. What do you think is the most important battle that only serious Civil War geeks know of? My Vote, Champion's Hill. Grant loses that, and while he probably could have saved his army (head bac...

Dierk, while it's an effective way of showing it or not, it seems that the idea behind using sections this way is to show the relative effectiveness of the guns. The Confederate artillery is was badly organized and used in this campaign. I suspect that this is an attempt to "hobble" the CSA in the s...

It is a little known fact of history that Elmer Fudd was one of the defenders of Culp's Hill... which led to the blood curdling battlecry

To this point, Ozark is my favorite game in the series (jury is still out on CP, haven't dug around in it enough). Especially when you look at Pea Ridge, if you play it within the campaign setting. The various options available to both sides make the battle a really neat scramble. where are they? Wh...

I agree on the music, but remember, if all else fails, grab music files from the other games in the series, and dump them into the music folder [8D]

Yes, I checked the campaign file, and that's a Major Union Victory, and terminal to the campaign.
