Section breakdown gives the player the ability of relocating a single battery safely, as one or two sections can remain in firing position to cover the move.

Well Pierre, if you are going for playability then you should use the 1-2 guns sections for the south, because artillery WAS the army's weakness compared to the North's. Then you will have the better quality infantry, better quality cavalry, better quality leader qualites, and greater command radii ... |

Rich Walker, To clarify your last post. Am I correct with the following interpretation? Battery A historically had 6 guns, so in the oob you will have a line showing one unit with 6 guns, and 3 units with 2 guns so that alternate scenarios can be built using either group. I would not recommend the 4... |

Rich, I prefer grouping the artillery in 2's. It gives more flexibility in tactical use, creates longer road columns, and evens out ammo supply usage. I would recommend staying away from single gun sections, even if historical, until the game engine is overhauled in a few areas as it is very unfair ... |

Supply Source hexes prevent units that can trace a line of unbroken hexes to them from being isolated if the Isolation Rule is being used. This allows units in forts to be surrounded but not isolated. It has nothing to do with ammo for infantry or artillery. MajGen Al 'Ambushed' Amos 3rd "Amos' Ambu... |

Hank, When I opend up the scenario editor for Corinth and pulled down the COMAND menu there exists a HAS BOATS item on the list. The version of the editor is 1.04, so I don't know if it came with the CD or was patched up to that level. I thought it was on the CD. Looking at the UPDATE for Corinth on... |

Rich W,
Actually it was the other way around, if I remember correctly. Corinth had units with 'boats', and that was added into FIW.

Players don't have to blitzkrieg just because they can. If you get into a game with someone doing that. Politely resign, and don't play them again. If you feel tempted to 'blitzkrieg' don't do it. I think everyone griping about this is a case of avoiding personal responsibility here. If you don't pl... |
