It looked like a game that I would like, and so I bought it (not for as little as $9.60), then studied it a little bit, and played my first opponent. Regretfully, the only thing that I learned from playing the opponent was that I didn't know how to play it. I learned nothing from that first encounte...

In 2.6.5 : 'The CoA may require the returning member, or the returning member may request, to rejoin at the rank of Second/Field Lieutenant with 15 OBD points." We've had easy going CoAs and hard charging, fire breathing CoAs. Some would allow anyone to rejoin at their previous rank while other...

Ramblings of an Old Man #31: Beware of reinforcement hexes. Most scenarios will rout any opposing units that are within 5 hexes of reinforcements arriving. Some scenarios protect reinforcement hexes for 15 hexes but they tell you that in the scenario description so be sure to read those. If the oppo...

I completely understand that statement.

Even though they are within range and will have received a command bonus from their superior, their command rating still must equal or exceed a die roll. Those two division commanders got beaten by the dice.

"I have been instructed to place leaders at the top of the stack in order of command, but not really sure it matters. Does it?" I have the same habit but it is for my benefit in finding commanders. I would be shocked if it makes any difference to the game engine in what order our units/com...

Routed units can run in some strange directions, and for probably 15 years I have used corps commanders that were not in the routed units chain of command to assist in recovering them. My perception has always been that they did their job but the reality is that those units might have recovered on t...

What commanders, and at what distance, can assist a unit in recovering from a rout? Some examples: 1. Can any Army or Corps Commander that is within one hex of a routed unit, assist them in recovering from a rout, or must they be in the chain of command of that routed unit? 2. Can the routed unit's ...

I must be misunderstanding something. That makes it sound like it would be easier to uncrew a six gun battery as opposed to a one gun battery because you could impose more casualties on the six gun battery and it is still divided by 100.

I thrive on 'death stacks' but your logic makes sense. IF they ever offered it as an option then I would play with it but I'm not one to use house rules because it requires a certain amount of intelligence to keep up with 5 different games being played with 5 different sets of rules and I don't have...

I would recommend that you go to the Department of Records (DOR) and review the Game Scenario Reports for each of those titles. It will give you a good indication of how much they have been played and what the fortunes (win, lose, or draw) of each side were in the various scenarios. Then the opinion...
