General Miller <salute> Excellent response and very much in line with traditional military etiquette and indeed not just for the ACW, and at least in the first instance, until politics, friends of friends so on and so forth came into play..........it was then as it is now, not what you know, but who...

Hi Karl, Being new to the club, I will have to figure out how to find emails as well. I look forward to your email and will try to send you an email as well. Regards, Wallace Lt. Welder, Often you'll find emails from new senders in your Junk or Spam folder, best way to fix this is to add them to Co...

Wallace, I would be interested in exploring Envoy for the CWB series. I have read the mini tutorial and the rules as linked on the WDS blog post of yesterday, 12/01/2023. I have also followed the posts on the WDS forum previously regarding Envoy although with no direct experience or understanding of...

Didn't realize it was real-time, not a fan of that either. WEGO doesn't necessarily bother me, but I'm not interested in "twitchy" games anymore. I own WinE and WitE2, but not WitW. I find that even though it seems super complicated, you don't need to make it so. You can dive into every w...

Josh, Never played FoF I fear. I see it's on sale, as are a lot of games now, Black Friday/Christmas. It's a WeGo game and RT and it are definitely not my favs tbh. Speaking of GG, I don't currently have WitE or WitE2 but on sale last week I got WitW & Torch, long slow learning process again.......

Your point on urban destruction is well taken and noted. Indeed it was not so much on the point of actual destruction I focused as the difficulty, you originally noted, of just moving a large body of troops through a possibly congested area both quickly and in good order. I only raised the matter of...

Further to Steve's point above regarding unban destruction or obstruction I offer the following for those in possession of the Panzer Campaigns series manual and so inclined to delve deeper. I know I shall  Section: 14.0 Parameter Data - P149 Sub-section: Miscellaneous - P151 * Rubble Fire Va...

On the most basic level possible it is always easier to travel around a city or town than it is to travel through it. Otherwise why do we have bypasses for cities? I never thought about it in relation to the games but the topic is intriguing from a gaming and historical perspective. Because each to...

It couldn't have been that tough. The first traffic light was invented in 1868 in London, England. It was installed outside the Houses of Parliament to control the flow of horse-drawn traffic over Westminster Bridge. The traffic light was manually operated by a police constable and combined three s...

Welcome, Sir, to the CSA and where doubtless the skills acquired at the War Colleges of Europe will stand you in good stead against our Yankee foe.

<Salute> Sir, I believe your point is very valid and well made. I contend that moving a force of any size through a town, of any reasonable size, is fair to causing delay, confusion and disorder and a penalty for so doing is warranted. The caveat to this might be that it is only relevant in the init...
