Got it -- early Vicksburg Campaign - talking about late 1862, and not Atlanta. In that light, it would seem to be taking tunnel vision at one person as part of his evolving into a commander, and not an overly fair assessment. There were not many 'very good offensive commanders' that get dropped off ... |

This will form part of a later post, however I wanted to communicate this to my own group prior to posting here. From a (very) recent internal AotP communication: "Genl Rusty Hodgkiss, a long time member of ACWGC, and the Army of the Shenandoah, and lately the Army of the Potomac, has been awar... |

I'm not sure if there is more to the explanation from Professor Woodworth. At the moment I would be looking to seeing if there is an expansion along the lines of: "... despite this, operational and strategic outcomes were not tied to these limitations.' I mean the Atlanta Campaign, of which I a... |

Hey Bill, welcome to the club .... it is kind of interesting with the recommendations - I might defer that to others, however it sort of ends up being how much might you be playing solo? Peninsula (what with the Chickhominy River playing a pretty big role in some of the scenarios -and the AI isn't a... |

As a public service post to my esteemed colleagues in the USA, Army of the Tennessee - I noticed elsewhere that this apparently was intended as an add on to an invitation to a team game in Campaign Chickamauga (scenario 109 or 100 - the difference being 110 is supposed to have been coded for weather... |

Note from the HQ tent: I hope this finds everyone well. July has always been a significant month in the history of the Army of the Potomac; not least because aside from it being the month that our Declaration of Independence was made in 1776, it is also the month of this Army's most significant vict... |

I believe that the Union OOB might be a little messed up in this one --- JL Reno as IX Corps commander is not being used - only JL Reno as 2nd Division commander of IX Corps - with the upshot that BG Isaac Stevens is shown as IX Corps commander -and there is no divisional commander of the Union IX C... |

When I saw Gen Strickler's tournament was going to use Ozark and Forgotten Campaigns- I had a quick browse of Ozark yesterday - and had a look into this one. As I usually do these passes in solo hotseat mode, I noticed something a little odd. CSA's Quantrill unit (a 33 man cav unit) was armed with '... |

In terms of testing the fire factors, I am not sure what there is to "test". A rifle value of 3 will produce fewer casualties than one of 4, but that is just a function of trying to establish the correct value for the rifle. I never compiled any data in this regard. Apologies - by test wa... |
