Gentlemen, I'm a writer. Well, that's what I decided in high school back in the late 70's. In college, I studied Journalism. About half-way through, I started thinking about what I was going to do to make a living. The only thing I could think of doing with a Journalism degree was to be a newspaper ... |

Pierre, I like the suggestions already offered. Colonel Simms' suggestions continue as the standard for the CSA Western Theatre, from back when he was in command there. They are documented at http://www.cdon.freeserve.co.uk/western_theater_general_orders.htm The only thing I would add is OBD points ... |

Gentlemen, I like the suggestions Colonel Peters' has made. As another item from my 'wish list', I would like to see an option in which you as the player were limited by the overall commander's LOS. Your own units outside his LOS would show up as '?', and that would only be an APPROXIMATION of where... |

General Golen, Do you have out-of-ammo units within range of his forces? They wouldn't be able to fire, and he wouldn't be aware of their ammo level. Another thing to keep in mind: The A/I doesn't fire everyone in sequence. If there are four units together in one place, three of them may fire sequen... |

General Gast, As one of your opponents, I feel duty-bound to inform you your artillery will fire much more effectively if you have them all about-face first [:D] ! General Adams, Great job, sir. I am just a bit confused yet: What do I do about a game that I registered under the OLD system but am just now finishing? Do I send you the original Game Id & Key, or are those now obsolete? Your humble servant, LGen 'Dee Dubya' Mallory David W. Mallory ACW - Lieutenan... |

Gentlemen, Mrs. Mallory and I built a new house about six years ago. The only thing I wanted was a secure room to set up my wargames in. I got a room in a corner of the basement--with unfinished concrete walls and floors and bare light bulbs--but at least it had a door that could be closed to keep t... |

General Turner, I concur with Captain Lynn. I highly recommend Sears' "Gettysburg", but if you have enough tokens pick up his "Chancellorsville" also and read it first. Since the HPS Gettysburg picks up between these two, you should be ready and raring to go by the time you've finished them [;)] . Y... |

Gentlemen, Yee-Haw [^] ! After the automated game form work he just accomplished, I wanted to nominate General Adams to the post myself--but realized the deadline had passed [V] . I was hoping he had been nominated so I could vote for him. Now I find I don't get to do that, either. (I'm always "a da... |

Col. Simms, I thought the whole idea behind campaign scenarios was that neither side knew exactly which scenario was being played, so there could be no reconnaisance. Ah, another innocence shattered. General Miller, My hat is off to you, sir. A tremendous lot of fun. To me, the only thing that would make me feel as if I were more on the battlefield (without actually being shot at) would be if you didn't even send us the replays to watch. Each player would receive a written synopsis of what the o... |

Col. McClellan, I heard on the radio this morning that the Pope had a full schedule for the next few days as well--you wouldn't be travelling with him, would you [:)] ? On a more serious note, have you considered taking on the moniker of "Brother Mac"? It somehow has a Civil War flair to it (has the... |

Gentlemen, I like to dance--does that mean I have to resign my commission[V] ? (I dance better than I fight, by the way [:D]!) In fact, I offered to teach Stacey Jemay how to do the Virginia Reel at the Army of the Mississippi tavern after my victory in our first engagement. Unfortunately, my 'victo... |

General Adams, Hear, hear! The next thing you know, those scalawags will want to limit the expansion of slavery into the territories and all sorts of such maliciousness. Why, they might even stoop so low as to someday give women the right to vote [:0] ! Maybe we Rebs should just secede . . . [:)] Yo... |
