Gents in the fine Army of Alabama there is only one winter sport we all follow and that is RUGBY.

Fld Lt Rogers,
Mark,

What's Cam talking about? Rugby? That sounds like some sort of card game!

Well, Sir... I expect to see some hunting pictures posted! I went deer hunting last year but it was snowing like crazy and colder than a Yankee's heart! The deer were all hunkered down and then the whole blue tongue thing had also reduced the population. My buddy and I hunted 3 days straight and saw only three deer the whole time. The first two surprised us so badly we didn't know how to act. The last once jumped up right in front of the two of us... and my buddy popped him as I was starting to squeeze the trigger. Gosh, I hate being skunked like that! Grrrr!

And I've got a new job this year so don't have the vacation time to slip away and go after a deer this year. That's even worse than getting skunked! And here my wife finally figured out that bacon grease was the secret to making some awesome deer steaks!

Gentlemen,

Rugby? Well I'm at a loss for that one. I'll have to get a book or something I guess.

Deer season is coming up here real soon! I wouldn't worry too much about getting skunked. Heck, I've been skunked way too many times to count. I just remember that a bad day hunting is still a pretty darn good day. Good old fashioned butter with some bacon grease is the best way to cook those steaks. I prefer chili and mix in some pork sausage with the deer, now that's good eating.

General McOmish - it seems these officers do not appreciate the man's game of RUGBY

Maybe we can start a CSA Team - I wonder who could be the hooker?
We certainly have a number of loose forwards too.

Talking of rugby - some interesting games on the go at present.

Col Neil Thomas enjoyed Saturday's game (Wales vs SA) immensely.
All Blacks vs France was a good one too.

Gen Kitchen's poms are getting ready for this coming weekend's game too.

Big weekend of Rugby coming up with the All Backs verse the POM's and Australia playing some other country :? Yes Rugby is a game so tough that it makes American Football look like a girls sport. As an intersting point the USA has won the Olympic gold medal for rugby in 1920 and 1924, it has only been an olympic sport four times, 1900, 1908, 1920 and 1924

Gents,

If you will take a moment to watch the All Blacks Haka you will begin to get the drift of our little Kiwi brother's thinking. Note to the uninitiated: this video is best viewed through the bottom of two freshly emptied pints. Four if you want the full 4D effect.

Well done Bob, my mission is to convert as many Americans as I can to Rugby  Although if the Americans put as much effort into Rugby as they do football they would be a force to be reconed with.

General McOmish,
Cam,

Well... I don't know about this whole rugby thing. I am a Midwesterner and guess a little stuck in my ways. I have watched a couple rugby games on ESPN but wasn't really sure what was going on. I'll have to sit down and read through the rules sometime. I did play a bit of soccer as a kid but that's a whole different world than rugby.

Do rugby players have the same issues with regards to head injuries that we have in American football?

Field Lt. Matthews,

I just finished up this battle at Wilson's Creek with Lt. Hampel and he is a tough opponent. I managed to pull off a minor victory but it was a brutal fight that went down to the final two turns. Lyons capture plus his other officer losses really did end up helping me pull out a victory in the end.

I just thought I'd let you know how this one turned out. It was my first victory so now I'm off to do some celebrating.

General McOmish <salute>

Thank you suh! Champagne? Now that's a bit refined for this 'ole boy from Missouri. You got a jug of corn squeezin's or some Tennessee Whiskey over there?

Captain Rogers,
Mark,

Congratulations on your Victory, Sir! <salute>

Are you engaging in a rematch with your opponent or have you tracked down another victim?

General Hulinsky <salute>

Thank you suh! No rematch with Captain Hampel right now. I have two other Lt's Cup matches that are ongoing along with a couple of other battles so my dance card is full at the moment. If I could just find someone willing to pay me to play these games.....
