Defeated, sir?!

Will all Junior Officers please leave the room!

Sir! We are never "defeated" we are simply repositioning our army on "interior lines". As if the Yankee Army could ever defeat us! The Lord will not allow a people such as ours to be driven from the earth by a horde of Yankee sinners and atheists!

No worries, sir. I shall allow you to buy me a drink and all shall be forgotten.

Well done, suh! There's still some of Colonel Olinsky's "loose change" to put a dent in the tab if needed.

General Garner,
Jim,

It is with great agony that I must report that another AotM Officer has been defeated in the Red Badge of Courage Tournament! :(

General McOmish made a post at the Mason-Dixon Tavern with regards to a BG Bull Run scenario that had a Confederate Officer willing to play the 07. Face to the Foe scenario but no Union Officer had stepped up to take the challenge yet. Cam made the absurd comment that if no Unionist stepped forward... he would count the battle as a Confederate Major Victory.

Well... honestly I didn't even have the Battleground games installed but I owned them. And it was only a short 8 turn scenario... so I decided to volunteer for better or worse. Certainly I could divert the AUTOMATIC Confederate Victory and at worst... the Union Army could be no worse off if I stepped forward and gave it a try and was still defeated.

But as fate would have it... due to my superior tactical brilliance and incredible deployment of Union artillery (the scenario was stacked strongly in favor of the Yanks)... I handily defeated my Army of the Mississippi opponent Major General Tom Phillips! So sadly... the Army of the Mississippi's endless string of defeats continues to the present time.

I do want to say that Major General Phillips is an exceptional officer and a gentleman! I enjoyed the battle and we whipped through the 8 turns in quick fashion. He's really too good of an officer to have his immense talents wasted in a deplorable Army such as this. So I invited him to join a unit that would be more in line with the caliber of Officer that Tom is. I know he'd make a fine addition to Hancocks Division. I'm looking forward to seeing his transfer paperwork come through the system!

Again, I apologize for smudging the battle record of the Army of the Mississippi... but among all the losses... my little mark is hardly even noticeable!

General Blake,

Beware of the little ladies right hook. It comes out of nowhere... and lands with the wallop of a mules kick!

You'll soon learn to duck whenever you use my wife's name in vain!
