Gents we have a number of young officers who have recently competed in the Lieutenant's Cup, so lets make them all welcome - including any of their Yankee opponents. We can also have a pre Christmas test celebration. :mrgreen:

General McOmish, Suh!
<salute>

I apologize for the delay in responding to your dispatch, as your courier has just now reached me. I have been tasked with guarding our beautiful Virginia border in the vicinity of Mathias Point and Hooe's Ferry along the Potomac against the slithering, eely Northern navel forces.

Duties have included greeting runners from that fair domain of Murraland, bringing much needed lead and powder. Damned Yankees will ne'er miss the stuff, yet they've bombarded the Barnesfield plantation at the Ferry on several occasions. The Hooe family has received little rest, but have been most gracious hosts. I could understand the Yanks' concern were it that we were smuggling whisky. On second thought, they would most likely give that away, considering the sorry quality of whatever that stuff is that they call likker.

In any event, killin Yankee admirals and defending our soil from landing parties has indeed been a thirsty business. I will gladly accept your invitation of a celebration at whatever time you propose.

Warmest regards,
