Gentlemen General Nick Kunz has left the ANV and come on down to be with the good old boys .. band (sorry a bit of the Blues Brothers). Nick has been appointed to command Stewart's Corps (2nd), so let celebrate hard, do it till it hurts and then push on through. If you see General Kunz flagging during the evening fill his glass.

***The door swings open and a muddy and wet courier shakes off the rain as he enters the tavern. After getting his bearings he hangs his coat and walks to General McOmish. He extends a letter sealed with a wax stamp that reads JJ and a box wrapped in buckskin. After delivering the letter wordlessly, The Man about faces, receive his coat and walks back out into the rain shutting the door behind him, Apparently not needing a reply from the General. The opened letter reads…***

“I write this letter, with heartfelt excitement at hearing the news of another grand party. Unfortunately, I am currently engaged at the front fighting the enemies of our cause, unable to attend which I’m sure will be a fine celebration. This saddens me. However, my courier explains that it’s for a good cause as well. General Kunz has transferred in! Congratulations Sir, whether it was your choice or not it was the right one! Here here and cheers.

P.S. Included with this letter is a box of fine Central American cigars, Which I fully expect that y’all will enjoy.

P.S.S….. If any of you see Miss Abigale, say hello for me and tell her to please send my riding scabbard back. It’s embarrassing for a cav officer to not be wearing a sword, it must have been left… well you know. Thanks in advance.

Y.O.S.
Fld Lt JJ Jansen”

The average IQ of the AotT Command Group just took a big spike upwards with the arrival of this fine and experienced Officer.

Congratulations Nick and have patience!!

General McOmish calls for his personal courier who enters the tavern and warm himself by the fire whilst the General gets the barkeep to find a suitable bottle of libation for the young officer who has forsaken the social event of the year to stay on the campaign trail. Once the bottle has been selected it is given to the courier and he is on the way. Lighting a match on the bald dome of the General Dortch's head the General lights up one of the fine central American cigars. "Hot damn these new officers graduating the VMI have the fighting spirt in spades, the Union should tremble in fear.
