Gentlemen,

I am directed by the Chief of the Armies, General Strickler, to bring to your attention, the promotion of our Army Commander, Brig. General Treuting, to the rank of Full General in the Confederate States Armies.

On behalf of the Command I wish to extend my personal congratulations to the General on his elevation and and ask that you each do so individually also.

I am further informed an official drinks reception will be hosted at the MDT in honor of the Generals promotion and to which the Officers of the Army of Tennessee are expected to attend. Full Dress Uniform is required for admittance and military decorum will be observed during this auspicious reception.

Subsequent to the 'official reception', the Officers of the Army of Tennessee will repair, in company with their newly promoted Commander, to the McOmish Tavern where uniform dress will be considerably relaxed and military decorum is neither expected or observed.

Gentlemen of the Army, I give you, General William Treuting <Salute>

For those Rebs that are not familiar with the Confederate Full Dress Uniform, it is the normal field uniform with the addition of a patch to hide the rip in the seat of your britches.

General Simms,

It appears you have inadvertently found yourself where you should not be, Sir. This is a private and select gathering of Gentlemen Officers of the CSA and to which you were most definitely not invited. Indeed your offensive remarks regarding the dress attire of Southern Officers most decidedly places you beyond the boundaries of a gentleman. I suggest, and with the respect due to a general officer, a point quite apparently lacking in your comment, that you remove yourself forthwith from this establishment and with no little alacrity, lest I be obliged to have the Sergeant of the Guard eject you unceremoniously.

How dare this Yankee mock our uniform! Get a rope!
