I'll be changing the Civil War material to fit in with the newer look I am using on the site (will be complete with revised planning maps on the pages for a particular game title, and will have improved navigation).

Probably not for awhile, however, as the series that I am currently working in is the NB series and then will be working on the Ancient Warfare series.

I have been working on CWB material again (slowly but surely). The above link in the initial post is -well it will go away soon, as I update the Civil War Battles series material to the new look.

At this point the menus are not completely filled out ( I have the urls on them but mostly am waiting to finish up the pages before I upload them to the site). I will make a post on the SDC blog (aka home page area) when this is completed.

Also I switched to doing the planning maps in 2d zoom out mode (to match the Napoleonic Battles series maps that I have done recently. I still will offer the 2d zoom in mode maps that I have already done. Mainly too, I did this so that I could accommodate larger maps. The one that has been published is the big one from Campaign Atlanta. Another change to other pages, is that I have placed the planning maps on the initial panel of the page (didn't seem to make sense to have a separate panel when there were titles with a single large main map or only several large maps).

At the moment I am working on Chancellorsville (mainly because it only has the one big map), as well as being the most recent title. This should be available, probably before the end of the weekend (barring JTS or HPS springing releases on me which require some attention).

Edited: As it happened, I got the Chancellorsville page done today.

Antietam will probably be next (no schedule -so I suppose that one might get done by this weekend. :D

Great looking site, Steve. Plus a LOT of useful information.

Thanks, Ernie, I really appreciate that :).

Ok, I got Antietam's page done (-although Antietam is a funny title- in that there wasn't any map information (Mike's campaign maps) that addressed First Bull Run - so it got me thinking that eventually I will have to do something about that -by probably adding a Historical Background tab or something like that,

http://hist-sdc.com/spotlights/cwb_antietam.php

Now since I haven't really gotten too far with other maps (I do have the Chickamauga-Chattanooga map done -but nothing else) -I think that I will probably do the page for Campaign Chickamauga next - but it won't be for awhile - probably next weekend, might be my goal -and I will probably refrain from posting updates until I have the rest of the titles done. The navigation buttons will post mostly to placeholder pages -but I think the sitemap link still points towards the original html pages that were done. (And after I get done with all of the pages for all of the titles- then I can have all sorts of "fun" cleaning up the mess I made on the server (or in other words- removing redundant material :) -- sounds like fun ... even more fun when you are on soup can and string style internet connections...

SDC now has a Facebook presence. As far as Civil War Club interests go, I am adding smaller versions for the planning maps to the albums there (and will eventually also be linking that material to pages on the SDC site proper.)

Edited: 31 Jul 2022: Site no longer exists - it sort of does at hdc.shipwreck-coast-traders.com -but it isn't the same; all SDC really felt like (before I got asked to do project design at the time) was essentially a mod of the publisher site.

Anyways I still have everything that was there, but it wasn't something that I felt was worth the cost I was putting into it. It was a hobby, after all, for me -and one that had radically increased in price over the years. And realistically with hobbies, it is mostly about what, you, the hobbyist gets out of your hobby. I wasn't getting value for money and not being a business... that was, essentially, that.

Excellent idea. Might drum up some interest from those interested in the ACW, but who do not know where to go.
