Gentlemen,
I wish to introduce myself to the Staff & my comrade Cadets of the VMI.
My name is Karl McEntegart (Recruit Cadet) from Ireland. I am newly assigned to the VMI and will imminently undertake my initial training in order to join the ranks of my comrades in arms and brother warriors. I have little experience of the battles in which we will doubtless be engaged in the near future but will go forward with stout heart for the greater glory of the Confederacy.

The Confederate Irish certainly sent the Yankees running at Fredericksburg and then waved goodbye to them (https://youtu.be/ijAwhSwAoWM?t=105).

Welcome to the ACWGC!

Looks like you are familiar with the accent of your colleagues but here are some tips based on my experience:

UR. A unit of time: there are 60 minutes in an UR.
Surel: as in Wheaties, Cheerio's, etc.

Have fun.

Cadet McEntegart! <salute>

Karl, very nice introduction! I see you have found your way around the ACWGC Forums.

There is still much to learn before you take the field against those newbie Yank opponents but keep up your reading at the VMI advanced training!

I will be looking for a Yank to be paired for your match in the Lt's Cup!

Nice job posting at the DoR!

Respectfully,

Your Obedient Servant,

General Nick Kunz
Commandant, VMI

Thank you Suh,
I am confident that my training at the VMI, tho arduous, will pay dividends upon taking to the field of battle.

Cadet McEntegart!

Welcome Karl! Glad to have you with us from Éire! Without a doubt you'll bring victory to our Southern banners and the Green flag of the 10th Tennessee!

Thank you Suh <salute>
I am honoured to march under the Southern banners. The 10th Tennessee is very proud of it's Green flag and heritage. The Regiment completed its organization at Fort Henry, Tennessee, in May, 1861. 190 were engaged at Chickamauga with 68% disabled. In December, 1863, the Regiment mustered 80 men. Very few surrendered on April 26, 1865.

Thank you for the outstanding picture "Rebel Son of Erin", it shall have pride of place in the Officers Mess.
