Fellow Club Members,
earlier this year in May I asked for members to send my father happy 85th Birthday greetings. The response was terrific and he printed and saved every e-mail he recieved. I am making another request.
My father-in-law, Joe Becknell, turns 80 tomorrow. He is a retired Radioman Master Chief (E-9). He was an Indiana farm boy who joined the Navy during WWII to get off the farm. He was part of a beach communications unit that hit the beach in a follow up wave at Iwo Jima. He stayed on the beach for many days establishing comms with the ships off shore.
Please send him a Happy 80th Birthday greeting on behalf of my wife and family. His e-mail is
joecorky@knology.net
Unless you have parents who use computers, you can't really appreciate what it means for our senior citizens to get e-mails. It will make his birthday just like it did my dad's. Many thanks.
Very Respectfully,
