Lt. Col. Richard Walker,
I was in the second encounter in a Full Shiloh Campaign at Mill Springs. I opened with Just Thomas's Division and a vicotry Hex to defend about 4000 to 5000 men. Poor weather 4 hexes visibility and reduced movement. I was not expecting to fight this battle as I have played this Campaign several times (4 to 5) all being the Battle of Mill Springs with full Union Forces. Did the poor weather prevent my troops for gathering at Mill Springs? In any event, the Rebs attacked from out of the Mist concentrated; with my disruptions from enemy fire and the Mud we cound not respond and were over whelmed loosing all the Artillery and the victory hex. Major Defeat and end of Campaign, Confederate Victory. Quite a supprising turn of events due to poor weather. Shouldn't teh attacker's troops be disrupted from advancing through the mud (Like a swamp)? Nothing like adding another advantage to the attacker. I am supprised that HPS would not make use of the weather feature optional. At least with the isolation rule, single phase play, and the density fire modifier I can turn them off. First time I feel that the Upgrades ruined the game play.
