I had the privilege of being at the Park in March of 2007 with some Club members. It was beautifully preserved as the trenches were still visible. One wonders if the artillery hadn't been moved what the outcome might have been.
That whole area where Ken is from is a Civil War buff's dream. You can see so much in just an hours drive from there. At times I felt like I was in a different time zone.
I reread William D. Matter's book this past summer - If it Takes All Summer - The Battle of Spotsylvania. A really good read.
