There's no restriction on how many units can melee a bridge, as long as they're in the same appropriate hex.

What is the appropriate hex to melee a bridge from?
either end of the bridge hex
Vis a vis distance and facing of meleeing unit.
adjacent to and facing the bridge hex you are trying to destroy. Other restrictions are that you can't have moved, fired or meleed in that player turn. The unit must also be in good order.
It is interesting to note that when you are repairing a bridge, the repairing unit must be in column (I assume mounted for cavalry), but to destroy a bridge formation doesn't matter.
Same hex? Adjacent hex in very front facing?
