3. Corinth and Gettysburg. I plan on no further purchases unless HPS makes substantial changes to the game engine. Otherwise, I will content myself with battles featuring the un-locked Corinth 1.1 version.

1) Yes--but considering how the question is phrased, I suppose this is the universal answer.

2)Yes(more battleground series)--just starting to play HPS, from what I see so far, I think I still will like BGG best, but I have to admit I like the music of Penisula--it grows on you.

3)Yes=> Franklin, Gettysburg, Penisula

A good Idea of the games in play might be found in by seeing if there is a list of games in play, or completed.

1. Yes.

2. No. (Currently one out of seven, but that's just the way it happened. Not a specific preference on my part.)
-- Actually, come to think about it, I play so much HPS because near half of my games are MP games. -- Or maybe I play so many MP games because this way I can play all the new HPS games with a manageable time effort. -- [8D]

3. Yes, all.

1./ Yes - I'm currently playing a 3 day Gettysburg started last year before HPS Gettysburg came out.

2./ No - I tend to play more HPS now, but I'm quite happy to continue playing the BG games, especially using the Norris-Frost system. I'd like to be able to say that the HPS games have now made the BG engine obsolete, but I can't at this point due to a number of flaws in the HPS system - maybe a few little fixes would be sufficient? However, I'd probably still continue to play a few BG games regardless.

3./ Yes - Corinth & Gettysburg. I'd like to see the ADF system fixed (it seems much better in the Nappy series) I also get the impression - maybe I'm wrong - that the HPS ACW engine has received less updates & improvements over the years than either the Nappy or EAW engines. For instance, it would be good to see pioneers & weather carried over from the Nappy engine and perhaps also the option of detachable Nappy style skirmishers - the ACW skirmisher system makes it impossible to "see" more than a single hex beyond a wood or other difficult terrain without moving a full unit right to the edge. But if ACW infantry could be reclassified in the same way as Nappy - ie. "M" militia & "R" restricted (both unable to deploy skirmishers), "I" infantry able to detach one skirmisher sub-unit, "V" or "U" light infantry able to break down completely and "S" skirmishers - then it would be possible for scenario designers to have a great time! I personally feel that it would be more realistic if most ACW infantry counted as "light" and were able to break down and fill out the woods with hordes of skirmishers.

Another really useful feature that might be carried over would be the ability to detach cavalry sub-units. This would enable large cavalry regiments to send out piquets and scout properly.

1. Yes - 2 out of 3 are Norris/Frost variants; all started prior to obtaining HPS Gettysberg.
2. No (2 battles, 4 campaigns)
3. Yes (Corinth & Gettysberg)

These are my first HPS games/campaigns and I am finding it a completely new system. I tend to like the integrated defensive fire - no hiding.
