I vote no. The biggest problem in the Nappy system is the skirmishers. Many of the rules are there to real them in a bit.

Also, units were surrounded and taken prisoner in the civil war so I don't understand why we would make that impossible.

Finally, I just think the game flows well enough without all the arbitrary rules being added.

Just my 2 cents.

Gentlemen,

Actually the no elimination rule is not needed if you get rid of the isolation rule and it's defensive penalty (or at least make its effect gradual over several turns). That is what makes surrounding a large force with a smaller one and eliminating it possible in one game turn not realistic at all.

Dear Bill,

My understanding about the isolation rule is it goes into effect that turn not the next turn, so the isolation rule makes ZOC kills very quick and easy. You just get notified your units are isolated the next turn, but I believe the reduced fighting strength penelty is applied on the first.
