Officers of the Club,

By the authority vested in us by Club Rule 6.1, the Cabinet has decided to commission a club-wide award, the Legion of Merit, for distinguished club-wide service. This award carries an 30-point OBD bonus.

The design of this medal encompasses both blue and gray, to signify the service provided by its recipients have not been to one military group but have been across the board.

As President of the American Civil War Game Club, it is my pleasure to make the first presentation of this award to General Pierre Desruisseaux, in honor of all he has done for this club.

A well deserved honor to Gen Desruisseaux.

As to my work on the new medal it appears someone else deserves some credit also. I used the U.S. Legion of Merit as a basis for the design then modified it to fit the idea of an award for both sides of the club changing the coloring to blue and gray, using a little more blue in the ribbon and more gray in the medal itself. Tried it both ways and just liked this look better. Apparently after I sent it to the cabinet someone added the ACWGC letters in the center, an excellent idea, wish I had thought of it.

General Miller,

The other design credit goes to Major General Pat Carroll, CSA and Cabinet Member. It was his idea to add the ACWGC to further clarify the nature of a Club award. Looks very nice, indeed!
