Post subject: Question for the membership

Hi again. I am sure many of you know me, as I was a member for a couple of years. I have been out of the Civil War gaming for a while and I just picked up Vicksburg Campaign. I am not a current member and I would like to get a game in to see if I enjoy it enough to become active again. Can I do that or do I need to rejoin? I don't know anyone who plays these games outside of this club.

Could someone drop me an e-mail or post here.

my email is miller41 (at) gmail (dot) com

Thanks[:D]

I do not find you on any roster, either hospital or inactive.

"Officers who have been involuntarily removed from the Club, declared MIA, or voluntarily resigned their commission may request to be reinstated to the Club. Such requests should be made to the CoA of the military group in which the returning officer served when he left."

Either that or you can rejoin.

We would be glad to see you return.

Ken, we would love to have you rejoin our dance. You first joined back in March of 1999 with a Serial #CSAKM209 and I believe that you were posted to the AotM! Give General Chris Cross a shout and let him know you would like to return. We could run you thru VMI if you think you would need the retraining but it isn't necessary.

Respectfully,

My doppelganger returneth. Ken if you can't find anyone willing to give you a game drop me a line. I'm not as good with the HPS games as I was with the BG series so it might go a bit easier on you than our last game.

Well, I'm glad to hear that someone else is having trouble converting from BG to HPS games. Yes, I love the large maps and new use of cavalry but the differences in meleeing, defensive line strength needs, terrain features, and use of artillery is keeping the seat of my pants downright airy. Don't you Rebs get to licking your chops too much though, 'cause another 10 years of practice with it and I might even become mediocre.

C'mon Ned, admit it. Your fortunes took a serious downward turn when you switched sides and quit playing against me. [8D] Heck, I've considered switching to the Reb side just so we could start all over again.

What, join the dark side! Good Lord I'd hate to think of giving up all those hard earned points. As much as it would give me pleasure to allow Ned to give me a whole 'nother series of butt whoopings I think I'll just have to stay on the side of light and goodness. [:D]

General Miller,

(I can address a retired officer by his former rank, can't I?)

I have acquired the new HPS Vicksburg game. Well, actually, it arrived in the mail and my wife immediately snatched it for a Christmas present -- so I don't have it in hand yet, and I won't get it installed until sometime next week! [:)] However, if you don't already have more opponents than you can shake a stick at by then, just give me a holler.

We'll see if we can't rekindle that old Rebel spirit!

Your humble servant,
Gen 'Dee Dubya' Mallory
