Post subject:  Gumption

Some of us have this thing called "gumption" and some don't. Well I've been a member of this club for a little better than 7 years. I enjoy the club and I enjoy the games and I enjoy the people. However I don't get the time to play as much as I would like. That's where the "gumption" enters the picture.

I made up my mind and walked up to my boss and told him "Mack, I've made you a mint since I've been here. Your business would be garbage without me. I married your daughter, I've taken care of your ranch when you're gone on your monthly vacations, and I visit your wife regularly in that mental institution. Its time that I got a bit of life reserved for myself. Mack, I'm gonna start playing my wargames at the office as often as I want and whenever I want. Things are now going to start being more about 'me' and not as much about 'you'. Do you understand me, Mack?"

You have to admit that there aren't too many of you with the gumption to do that. But the world belongs to those who are willing to grab the bull by the balls (what fool would grab a bull by the horns?). Power resides with those who are willing to take it. I can tell you that my demands set Mack back an inch or two.

Do any of you know where I can find a job?

Sir,

While I think your support of your boss is admirable, I'd stop the visits to his wife. In future you may have difficulties with the staff letting you leave.

Also, remember to wash your hands after handling the bull.

Ned I've heard that talking out one's a$$ restricts the peripheral vision. Is that correct?[;)][:o)][:I]

Ned,

I tried something similar with my wife. She threatened to toss the computer out the window when I wasn't around. Needless to say, I'm only playing a few games anymore...[:D]
