Hey all...

I was just wondering how you view the campaign trees in the HPS games.

Does Atlanta actually have one? Does any battle make a difference?

Haven't gone too far in Chickamauga, but same question there.

I know Gettysburg has differences.

Talk to me...

Thanks,

Only way to "see" the campaign tree is with the Campaign Editor. Takes a little browsing around in it and reading the manual for it to figure out what all the symbols mean and how it decides which path to use.

All the games have one since all HPS series CW games are campaign style. Some battles are critical in that they determine where and if you can go to other scenarios. I don't have Atlanta so can't comment much on that one.

Chickamauga has some really strange paths through it. Somehow, Denny and I picked one that consists of only two battles. A one day Checkamauga and depending on the out come of that one a battle for Knoxvile or Missionary Ridge.

Gettysburg is one where you have to pick carefully which battles to win and even lose since they determine the situation at Gettysburg.

Colonel Thompson,

Check the War College and a paper on Where to Find info on HPS games - it has some help on this subject...
