Gentlemen:

Major General Laabs, serial # CSAML872 is hereby awarded the first ever VMI Evander M. Law Medal, for his outstanding service as a VMI Instructor. He has taken on these additional duties since September 2006 and has trained a total of 7) new officers, engaged in battles each month and by doing so he has displayed the skill and competence required by an Officer of The Vicksburg Military Institute and is a credit to this Institution and the Confederate States of America.
