Post subject:  Campaign G-burg Map error

Hi guys,

Not sure if I should send this to Rich or post here, but will start by posting here.

I'm playing the 4th battle in a G-burg campaign, a huge map with Hagerstown being the largest town. Just south of Hagerstown, the pike running southwest runs through a lake! Hex 231,111 is a water hex, and while the pike graphic runs right through it you can't actually move through it as it's a water hex.

I don't think this is a mistake. You can move units in column down the road but you can't change into line in that hex nor move through it in line. My guess is this is supposed to simulate a road along the edge of the lake without enough room to deploy troops. You would have to check with the designer to be sure.

Just to clarify - I was in column, and it will not allow the move.

Does it say "ford" in the hex info area?

Hi,

I brought up the Falling Waters and Falling Waters-No Fords maps and tested. Both maps allow column movement down the road by the lake. But if you try to change to line in the hex, it says "no changing formation on bridges" or something like that. So I guess the hex is considered a water hex and the road a bridge, similar to the railroad bridges in Peninsula that can't be destroyed. Hope that helps.

No, it's listed as a Water hex, and if you right click on it it shows the pike on the outside of the correct hexsides. No mention of ford or anything else. All other hexsides are blank (as they should be).
