It was Stonewall Jackson on June 20, 1861. his men destroyed about 386 railroad cars, torn up track and stole 42 engines owned by the B & O Railroad, they were hauled overland 22 miles to Winchester. He came back a year later and burned the roundhouse complex to the ground.
Hauling those locomotives was quite a feat and something you don't hear to much about.
