Being fairly new to FOW,I need some clarification on the proper Ethics of play. When A game is being considered or is agreed to should the fact that you have played it before or going into it cold be revealed ? Is it OK to look at both sides opening placement of units or reinforcement before you start the game? Ernie

Lt,

As time goes on you will have played scenarios before against others, so pre-knowledge of the scenario can't be helped. It is understood all players are able to pre-scout any scenario.

Looking at the your opponent's turn, if the file is not password protected, is frowned upon, as is hacking into your opponent's password to see his file with password protection on.

This is easy! [:D]

If you want a scenario that neither of you have looked at or played before, put that out front for the opponent challenge.

If you want to play a scenario that you think that you're an expert on it, then invite opponents to "Come get your butt kicked!" [xx(][}:)]
I enjoy playing a skillful, honorable opponent.

And if you're a novice that does not have a clue about who your opponent is, their experience with the scenario, and their skill level, ask him. Then ask others from your army at one of the closed forums.
You may even be able to find his won-lost record with the club.

But if you don't ask or inform prospective opponents about what you're looking for, they are not obligated in any sense to inform you about what they're bringing to the game. [;)]

And if you find that you've drawn someone that you're incompatible with because of personality conflicts, call off the game and move on.
Life is too short to waste hours, weeks, and months playing a game that you don't enjoy with someone who you dislike.
