Gentlemen,

The officer in charge of our mess has sent us the following communication:

<blockquote id="quote"><font size="3" face="book antiqua" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote">
1) the drainage of manpower created by the need for more men on the front lines has stretched our capacity to function

2) in order to save time and resources we have began to experiment with new recipes that will make the preparation of foods quicker and require less attention by our staff

Requisition Request:

1) 5 tons of Mexican Jumping Beans

Our cooks have discovered that if they mix a handful of Jumping Beans inside of the Pancake Mix that the Pancakes will up and flip themselves.

Signed,
Capt. Frank Hayes
Head Cook AotM

We can only wonder where this will lead in the future but I congratulate our cooks on their innovative solution. Incidently, I will be sleeping in past breakfast tomorrow.

Respectfully,
Col. Blake Strickler
Commandant of VMI

Col. Sir,

If the cooks from the AoM has any extra jumping beans, please send some to my HQ's...with the heat reaching over 100 here in the great state of South Carolina, I could use some extra start.

"Any people, anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable and most sacred right - a right which we hope and believe is to liberate the world. Nor is this right confined to cases in which the whole people of an existing government may choose to exercise it. Any portion of such people, that can may revolutionize and make their own of so many of the territory as they inhabit."

General Tisdale, sir,

We would have been glad to have sent you some of the Beans as requested. Unfortunately, I must report, the Army was thrilled with the new recipe and proceeded to eat their entire three days rations for breakfast. On a related note... the three day expedition north has been canceled as the Army is... quite literally... tied down at the moment.

Respectfully,
Col. Blake Strickler
Commandant of VMI
