Hello all,

Over the past day or so I have been trying to play a campaign game of HPS Peninsula with another club member. When we start the campaign neither side is prompted to set the optional rules we want to play with. When play starts the optional rules are locked.

Any ideas on what we are doing wrong and how this can be resolved?

Thanks

Have the latest patches been performed by both games?

I always thought Options had to be set before the first turn was started during the setup for the scenario.

After you both have set your options on the strategic display, The player who moves first will start the resultant scenario and the 'rules' options will appear. it takes about 3 emails when starting a campaign.

Don't forget to set encryption before the first player ends his turn.

My opponent (Confederate) moved first and says he was never prompted to set the optional rules and when he tried to do so was not allowed to choose them. I attempted to do so during my first move and was told something to the effect of "optional rules cannot be set once scenario begins".

My opponent said he had similar issues with Campaign game of Peninsula in past and moved on to other games...

Regarding PBEM encryption I thought you couldn't encrypt if you were playing the Campaign scenario. I thought that was strange though.

Here's how it works.

1) access "Start Campaign"

2) It will prompt you to name the file and save.

3) A screen will automatically appear in which you must check which side you are, check "email" , and choose a campaign.

4) Once you hit "okay", it will give you an overview and you must make a choice as to which tactical option you wish to implement.

5) It will then prompt you to send it to your opponent, who will then choose his tactical option.

6) WHEN HE DOES THIS, AN AI DIALOG BOX WILL POP UP. HE MUST CHECK MANUAL. BELOW THERE WILL BE A BUTTON MARKED "RULES". CLICK ON THIS BUTTON AND THE LIST OF OPTIONS WILL APPEAR. CHECK THE OPTIONS YOU WANT AND CLICK "OKAY". YOU WILL THEN RETURN TO THE AI DIALOG BOX, WHERE YOU CLICK "OKAY". The scenario should then start with all the options you wanted.
Hope this helps.
