Can Generals use boats like infantry and artillery can to cross a river in the HPS games? |

Northern Generals yes, Southern Generals would consider too close to bathing to risk it......okay I don't know. |

Near as I can tell, a leader can accompany a boat unit across water, but can't cross on his own. |

Row, Row, Row your boat down... Someone has to carry the boat and someone has to row. Units that can cross water are assumed to carry small boats. A leader, by himself, could not carry one, so, leaders need the unit to cross with. |

The info is actually from the USER manual of the 1776 game. I guess it would also be in one of the ACW games, but I have not seen it there.

Didnt Forrest once toss one of his own junior officers from a boat for refusing to paddle across the river as it was beneath him to do so? |
