I drove home from my parents house in Franklin, Tennessee, on Friday and drove the entire way in one sitting. It was a 850-mile trek through TN, VA, WVA, and PA and took about 12 or so hours.

I realized when I got home I passed through the following battlefields (or the town where the battle occurred):
Franklin
Stones River
Knoxville
New Market
Cedar Creek
Winchester
Harpers Ferry
Antietam
Gettysburg

Had I actually had time to stop the car and explore the battlefields it would have been a much more enlightening trip! Nonetheless I think I saw a good portion of the Civil War from the seat of my truck for a 12-hour span of time

General, you were going faster than 75 if you missed passing through MD! Durned strange route from Winchester through Harpers Ferry to Sharpsburg and Gettysburg. :o. You on I-81 (only 'bout 6 minutes in MD) or US340/15?
Mind you, after 12 hours, it's all a blur
