Gentlemen <salute> As written, the ACWGC club rules define the responsibities of the Cabinet as follows: 3.3 Club Governance 3.3.1 The Club is governed by a group of officers known collectively as ‘the Cabinet’. 3.3.1.2 Duties of the Cabinet a) The duly elected Members of the ACWGC Cabinet with a majority vote, subject to veto, determines all interpretations, understanding and application of club rules. They may also make a determination on any situation not otherwise specifically covered under these rules with a majority vote, subject to veto. b) Approve promotions c) Permit forum for officer grievances d) Arrange for all elections within the Club From there the rules move on to define the specific responsiblities and powers of each cabinet position. I formally propose to the cabinet the following addition: 3.3.1.2 e) "All cabinet votes dealing with proposals for rules changes be made public to the membership of the ACWGC, with each cabinet member and their vote posted in a locked thread along with the proposal voted on." I believe that cabinet votes should be a matter of public record available to the members of the ACWGC that elected them to their position. This addition to the ACWGC rules would provide a voting record for consideration during future elections by the membership; no hiding behind closed doors. Highest regards, |
