So Microsoft has issued a small update that allows the forced install of Windows 10. (See this article at Computerworld:

Clicking the "X" close out button was rewritten to actually accept the install, without users knowing that function changed.
Has anyone found a successful way to not allow the update to even start?? I've read some input in this article at the Guardian, but not sure if what folks in it did actually worked:
