16. Cavalry automatically deploy skirmishers when they are mounted. But those skirmishers aren’t very good at peeking around curves. The game will often not pick up an enemy unit while going around a curve except for those straight ahead. If you are anticipating possible enemy presence around that curve and you don’t want to run into them, they can be spotted by stopping your cavalry unit and doing a face change to look two hexes out straight across that curve.

Gen. Simms,

I played these games for 10 years before I figured that out ( no remarks from the peanut gallery Gen. Eichleburger ). Where were you when I needed you sir where?!! I've heard talk of you lounging on a river boat near Baton Rouge. Probably playing 5 card stud with some of those heathens from up north like General Joe (What do you mean the boys have already fired off 60 rounds) Meyer or General Derek ( I don't care if there is a whole Rebel division Colonel you will get my guns back) Hempl. Obviously some of our commanders cannot be trusted to use their "down" time constructively. Oh well as long as your ready sword in hand when the bugles call General!

Yes, its those road/trail hairpin turns in the forest hexes that can cause big trouble for an unwary cavalry unit.

And, Larry, that was a five-man cribbage contest that was set up by Cam McOmish on the Baton Rouge riverboat, a $10,000 winner-take-all affair. There was a place set for you, but you didn't show. I won everything: except your $2,000 stake, so you can send that to me any time!

Gen. Meyer,

A $2,000 ante. That is precisely why I did not show. Uh... well the check is in the mail and you know how the confederate railroads are running. Maybe you will get your money in time to charge San Juan Hill!!!
