Why does it have to be another reality TV star, all Sherman is famous for is the Flipping Atlanta extreme makeover show and the sequel Flipping Georgia.

Haha, another quality post & comments by you guys!

The image reminds me that on YouTube, you can find the soundtrack for the old Sierra Games "Civil War Generals 2" - https://www.youtube.com/user/SillyGrack ... shelf_id=0

Yes! That soundtrack will be forever burned into what's left of my brain! Many an hour spent, deep in thought over a game, only to realize you had left the music on! Forever ingrained in our subconscious!

Haha, yes indeed! For some years here I used the tag line "Son Only a MiniƩ Ball Can Dismiss Me"! Remember that function when you tried to dismiss an officer you couldn't?!?

Also I really enjoyed the intro song to the original Robert E. Lee: Civil War General game. The first half of this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ildV9mKD5zc

Whoa! Flashback.

Try this one for size. If anyone else remembers this game I will be impressed.

Ahhhh! That awesome 16 bit sound! I do have to admit, General Meadows, this one I don't remember. We will always have this classic one, though, gentlemen:

I still think one of the all-time classics is Sid Meier's Gettysburg. Still great fun today.

I tried to find an old Atari civil war game, I think it was made by SSI or AH, but I'm not able to find an old example. That was a really early 8-bit or 16-bit strategy game. Early version of board games converted to PC (late 80's). The AI was decent then too. :)

Oh, the good old days!!!

Lots of imagination required, extremely basic graphics and unique sound effects.

Update...this looks to be the old SSI game..

There were some features of these SSI games that I wish would be incorporated into the JTS games, but graphics isn't one of them. It was better on the Commodore 64, but not by much. Still, considering the computer power available back then, the games were amazing.

You struck a chord there, General Mihalik. Commodore 64 was my gaming spring board! Many a hour spent on that! Load "*", 8,1
Good times.

The Command system in this game and the others in the series was one of the best I've seen in 50 years of wargaming, pc miniature and board.
The officers affecting the units MP allowed the Confederates to often maneuver better than their Union opponent without the artificial morale bonus we see given to the CSA in the Tiller games. The casualty system with killed/wounded/missing and missing possibly returning overnight was also excellent as was the visibility range lowering due to smoke after heavy fire. Played this one often with my friend Dave, we thought the Command system worked so well we modified it for use in our Napoleonic miniature system.
