The election timeline for ACWGC President election is as follows: Nominations: 30 Nov – 6 Dec 2020 Campaigning: 7 Dec- 20 Dec 2020 Voting: 21 Dec – Dec 27 2020 The ACWGC Cabinet (election committee) will be prepared to begin receiving nominations on 30 Nov 2020 (Monday), and candidates will be required to meet the criteria as defined by the ACWGC rules (3.3.4.2 Eligibility): 1) Must hold the rank of colonel or above 2) Must be nominated by two other members before being placed on the ballot. You may nominate an officer from either army as this is a presidential election. 3) Nominations must be submitted to the entire election committee, email addresses of which will be provided below. 4) Nominations must include a statement that the nominated officer agrees to serve if elected. 5) If nominating, the officer should use the email address of record contained in the Department of Records. The election committee will work to verify the identity of the nominating officer. However, the nomination will be disqualified if this is not possible before the end of the nominating period. It is requested that commands advise their members at every level in order to ensure the best possible turnout and participation. I realize that I am a relatively new member here, but I feel very strongly compelled to make a nomination for the position of ACWGC Club President. In my time in the ACWGC, one man very clearly stands hands and shoulders above the rest. His activity level, contributions and sincere interest in the welfare of this club are unrivaled by any other member who I have encountered to date. Some of the accomplishments of this most notable officer include: • Currently serving as a trainer for the CSA side of the ACWGC; • Currently playing in multiple, multi-player games with younger CSA officers in a nobly dedicated effort to improve their bond and allegiance to the ACWGC; • Consistently the most active officer posting in the ACWGC forums; • Single-handedly filled the Southern Raiders War College forum with no less than 61 posts on the operations of our games, battle tactics and truly exquisitely prepared guides to individual scenarios; • Currently creating a ACWGC Facebook page to improve the visibility of the ACWGC and promote new memberships There is no one I have seen in my five months of service here that even comes close to providing the benefits that this man alone brings to this club. I would ask that my nominee accept my nomination for this post, thereby promising to serve in the position in this club that his activities have fairly earned. I trust that two other officers will second my nomination of this man for the position in this club that he so fully deserves. I, Lt. Colonel Denny Holt, proudly nominate Brigadier General Rob Meadows for the post of ACWGC President. Just a reminder that the nomination period will close on December 6, 2020 (this Sunday) at 11:59pm EST. Since we have at least two candidates, we'll actually have a full election cycle. An announcement for Campaigning and then Voting will be made at the respective timeframes. |
